FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's your photography style?
Documentary first, always. I'm not there to direct you — I'm there to pay attention. My approach is candid and observational, focused on capturing the moments that actually happened rather than the ones we staged. That said, I'm not a fly on the wall either. I know how to read a room, move through a space, and find the light. The result is coverage that feels real and looks intentional.
Do you pose people?
Honestly, as little as possible. For formal portraits and family photos, yes — I'll give you some direction to make sure everyone looks great. But for everything else, my job is to get you comfortable enough that you stop thinking about the camera. Once that happens, the real photos start.
How far in advance should we book?
As soon as you know your date. Popular dates — especially fall weekends in New England — book up fast. I'd recommend reaching out at least 9-12 months in advance, if possible, though I always encourage you to check even if your date is sooner. I occasionally have availability for last-minute bookings.
What does the booking process look like?
It starts with the contact form. From there I'll reach out to schedule a call — a low-key conversation where we get to know each other and figure out if we're a good fit. If we both feel good about it, I'll send over a contract and invoice to lock in your date. Simple, straightforward, no surprises.
What's included in your wedding coverage?
Every wedding gets 6-10 hours of coverage, an online digital gallery with print ordering, complimentary album design, and pre-wedding timeline planning and consultation.
What is the Nostalgia Wedding Video Experience?
It's one of my favorite things to bring to a wedding. Remember your parents' old VHS camcorder? Mine's coming to your day. You'll use it, your guests will use it, and the result is something wonderfully, intentionally imperfect — raw, grainy footage that feels like a memory even the first time you watch it. I’ll digitize everything so it lives alongside your gallery forever. It's included with every wedding at no extra cost.
How many photos will we receive?
It varies depending on the day, but most couples receive between 600 and 900 fully edited images. I'd rather deliver a gallery of images that all mean something than pad the count with duplicates and throwaways.
How long until we receive our photos?
You can expect your full gallery within 8-12 weeks of your wedding day. I'll send you a sneak peek within a few days so you're not waiting too long to see something.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, and I love getting out of the city. I'll drive up to two hours each way at no additional cost, which covers most of New England. For weddings beyond that, a travel fee applies, and depending on the location, accommodations may be required as well. Destination weddings are always worth a conversation — reach out and we'll figure out the details together.
Do you work with a second photographer?
A second photographer is available as an add-on for $1,000. It's a great option if you want more complete coverage. While I'm with you for portraits or key moments, a second shooter captures everything happening on the other side of the room. Worth it for larger weddings or couples who want a fuller story told.
What happens if you get sick or have an emergency?
In the decade plus I’ve been doing this, I’ve never missed a wedding. In the unlikely event that something prevents me from shooting your wedding, I have a network of trusted photographers I can call on.
Do you have backup equipment?
Always. I shoot with professional cameras and carry backups of everything — bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards.
What's your payment and cancellation policy?
A deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due one month before your wedding day. Full details are outlined in your contract. Life happens — if something changes on your end, reach out and we'll have an honest conversation about it.
We're not the most photogenic couple. Can you still make us look good?
“I’m not photogenic” is one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves. Everyone is photogenic. Still, most of my clients say some version of this before we work together — and every single one of them ends up with photos they love. The trick isn't posing. It's making you comfortable enough to forget I'm there. Give me a chance to prove you wrong.
Do you shoot elopements?
Absolutely. Elopements are one of my favorite things to document — intimate, intentional, and completely yours. The same approach applies: I show up, I pay attention, and I stay out of the way so your day can unfold exactly as it should.
How do we get started?
Fill out the contact form and tell me a little about your day. I'll be back in touch within 48 hours and we'll take it from there.
